I was going to give this book two stars based on my reading of it. It was just ok. I didn't connect with any of the characters and I found parts of it fairly unbelievable, despite it supposedly being based on real life. The premise and the idea were good but it didn't translate into a good book for me.

However, I'm downgrading my result to a one star. Since reading and reviewing this book I have read numerous posts online about this author threatening reviewers who have give his book less than 4

Some of the comments made (including saying he is currently tracking one female reviewer at her college and threatening her with violence) are despicable. People don't realise that how they behave reflects the enjoyment of their writing. Look at JK Rowling. She's said some pretty shocking things recently and since then her writing has taken a back seat. This author has ruined his story for me even further by paying reviewers (who are supposed to have integrity and honesty in their reviews) to give him 5 stars and then threatening reviewers who don't enjoy his book.

He has been bullying girls that have given this book less than 4 stars and went as far as threatening a reviewer to TRACK HER IN COLLEGE, calling her a cheater just for being honest, and posting her photos on his profile without her consent.
He also admitted paying people to give him 5-star reviews, which is obviously very unfair and wrong. Paying people to review your book is great, but what's not so great is forcing them to give you a stellar review and threaten and bully them into doing so.
One of the honest reviewers showed screenshots of him offering more money to her in exchange of a better review and a higher star rating.

While it is often said it is better to separate the art from the author, ask yourself if you really want to support a man that threatens and intimidates girls just because they don't give him what he wants when they don't owe him nothing.

EDIT He has also been found to have PLAGIARISED huge chunks of this book by putting in quotes from other published works passing them as his. This is literal stealing and I am glad to see that the publishing house releasing this book dropped the author.

Beware if you are taking this book for review especially paid reviews. If you end up not liking this book, the author will literally force you to rate it 5 stars or delete it, and if you don't, he will bully you. He will bully everyone supporting you - harassing young girls and telling them to sort out everything or the consequences would be difficult for her. He posted her phone number online without her permission and he is tracking her college.

After reading many good reviews of the book and constant 5 stars, I thought this will be an amazing book.
And I was excited to read it.
I'm a very big romance fan. Despite not reading many Indian romance books, I gave this one a try.
But it was a big disappointment.
I couldn't get into it. Characters weren't well developed and overall vibe was off.
Story didn't come out as something new or unique (same old love drama) , felt quite boring and stretched.
What I hated the most was the cheesiness. OMG
I love cheese in my pizza but so not in books !!
Also, blurb says that the book is based on true life of author but it didn't seem so based on the fact that some things were not believable but it depends on what one person believes so yeah.. It could be true

Moreover, there were many grammatical errors and narration was off - which never makes me feel good about a book

So definitely not reading it again

If you are going to read this book, than beaware of the author, who is tagging a 17 year old girl a cheap and shameless girl. I mean who are you to tag her anything publically! I lost my soul after reading the first few chapters.

If you are thinking about picking this one up, think again.

The author is a stalker who will find out where you live and track your workplace/college if you don't like his book. Not even kidding, he has made these threats openly to a lot of people who have reviewed his book.

Don't bother picking this one up. Read something better instead. Won't be hard to find, anything is better than this plagiarised piece of work (sentences have directly been copied from other books and used without any discreti

I was waiting for new releases; I hesitated before buying this book because the author was new for me. But it is proved to be the best book. Now Ved Nishad is one of my favorite author.

Beware before picking it up.
Go and have a look at his Instagram of how he is harassing people. He will abuse you if you rate his book less stars and then the ones who will support you. His language is crossing all the limits of what a decent is called. I haven't read the book and definitely don't have any intention too after seeing everything that is going on.

Ved Nishad went on a hate spewing spree on Instagram after a Book Reviewer on Instagram rated his book less than five stars. His logic, apparently, was that since it was a paid review it should have received 5 stars and since other people were reviewing it 5 stars, this particular reviewer should too. Anyone who is thinking to read this book, think again. If you read this book, you'd want to give it a rating lower that 2 star and when you do that, the author will harass you to change it 5 stars because apparently, Bhawana Somaya has "tweeted" that his book deserves much more. I lost my soul by Ved Nishant is the story of Dev Mathur who falls in love with Anindini. Anindini truly loves dev and is doing everything for him but sadly he doesn't reciprocate those feelings for her.

The whole story is narrated from the perspective of Dev. We get to see a lot of character development because of this.

The writing style of the author is very detailed and impressive. I liked how author described every city. I feel like visiting every one of them.

Author claims that this is a true story of his life and it's really unbelievable and unpredictable.

Some chapters were unnecessarily dragged and they had no connection to the actual story. It could have been avoided and it would have resulted in less number of pages.

Also I felt that use of some words was very cringe. It could have been minimised.

The message given from this book is very important for today's generation from my perspective.

A very heart-touching & poignant book which begins with soft anecdotes on an extreme level. It touches the hearts of the readers who read it & understand upto a deeper level, the deep effervescence, meaning & reverence which has been drawn out, dropped into chapters are worth appraisal!

The only drawback which I didn't like in this book was the sophomore content. It's basically the same old clichéd dramatic typical bollywood parody romance genre books. The book talks about love, romance, sex, drama, bond, betrayal, trust, friendship, family, relationships & many other aspects interconnecting each other!

Characteristisation is okay. Characters included Dev & Anindini.

Story is interesting & thrilling to read. It's gripping, depressing, heartbreakingly poignant, painful at times to read. It has twists & turns incorporated at humorous instances. The message imparted via the quotes makes it easy to understand.

Language is good. Writing style is okay. Narration is okay. Has grammatrical errors at certain places & at times it makes it irksome to read.
Overall, a good onetime read!

Author has lacked in justifying few of the description and one can easily identify that it's a work of fiction.

Most of the high rated reviews are paid and forced ones. Author forces the reviewers to put 4 or 5 rating. If we are against it he will be stalking us in all the social media and harass us. He is reluctant to accept criticism

Humans break your heart. And so do books like "I lost my soul". It is very hard to review, judge and pass my opinions on someone's memoir. Isn't it the story of the author's life? How should I judge it? I have no answer.

Dev tried to get back his love.

It was not love, it was his life.

The starting comes same as that of like Chetan Bhagat where some psychiatrist meets him and asks about him. This makes me quite angry. Anyways let's keep it aside and move ahead.

Sometimes I felt like Dev was a little bit extra, because, come on - you love this girl! You know she walked away and doesn't want to come in your life! Why don't you just move away? You have your own self respect man!Even I must restrain myself because I have no idea what Dev was going through. Dev's consistently pursuing her made me impressed as we rarely get to see pure love in this era and the decisions Dev takes are often absurd- but full of his emotions for Anindini

Ved's writing style is another treat, with well defined chapters and endings that hook you to the next chapter, he surely has some skills that any writer must surely have. It is neither naive nor pretentious and successfully captures the reader's attention without trying hard. A frank and informal writing style is probably my favourite.

The story unfolds when Anindini, the female protagonist moves to USA for pursuing higher education. I applaud the author for creating a male protagonist who expresses his emotions unashamed of what people say. When I read the first few chapters, Dev seemed much more emotional than Anindini, which is a rarity! Most authors would rather sketch the woman as an emotional wreck. Equality, at its best.

I could only imagine how the author managed to pen down a few of his most painful memories so efficiently that it almost arouses empathy from the reader.

Though this book is more likely a diary writing but it's sure to move you to tears at points, and I assure that it would be a depressing read that you would not be able to forget for a long time.

Life often throws the toughest challenges at us and it is acceptance that conquers all. Ved's novel gave this beautiful message to me that I will carry with me forever. The minimal cover design beautiful complements what is contained between the pages and the product makes a wholesome read all in all.

I could stand and clap for Ved for creating this flawless master piece I adored, and I look forward to read much more from him.

All in all it is a very good read for the lovers of the genre. The book could be polished up a bit for the really minor grammar errors but that hardly matters against such a gripping tale.

Anindini cherished his life with love and care. After 4 years of relation Dev falls in love with her and muster the courage to get Anindini forever…

Let me talk about the beautiful craft first. Gazillion gramatical errors, lots and lots of info dumping, charecters have no substance and probably no growth. Boring and artificial writing. Cheesier love story which is just eww 🤢 And unrealistic at its best!

Now coming to the person who wrote this masterpiece. He happened to give a copy to an eminent personality and that person tweeted on it wishing good luck. This person though she gave him a five star rating to his book 😒 She probably didn't even read his book. Now, he uses that tweet as a weapon to threaten reviewers into giving him a five star rating. You hate his book, feel generous and give him three stars to encourage him as a debutant, he doesn't care. His book has an average rating of 4.5 and you shall give it 5 stars or "the consequences will be serious" not my words, trust me. 😂 And if you want to stand up to him...he'll post your pictures on all his social media platforms and call you dirty blodded, cheap class girl, third class girl and he'll make sure that will reach your parents! And oh! Did I mention that he'll track your college? 🤔 and if everyone points out and calls him out...he'll want you to prove it by trying to save the girl's dignity by keeping quiet. If not "consequences will be serious".

Now bonus round: If you post his antics on your Instagram stories...you'll be a slut and people like you would be sold in the nights. Also your mother wouldn't know your father and he'll be okay to run an add campaign by spending ten thousand rupees on it. And yup he's very busy.
